Σαββατοκύριακο 28 & 29 Ιουλίου 2012Το καλοκαιρινό Islands on the Air (IOTA) Contest 2012 που διοργανώνεται από την RSGB, πάντοτε το τελευταίο Σ/Κ Ιουλίου τρέχει από σήμερα το απόγευμα μέχρι και αύριο.
Είναι word-wide contest, δηλαδή όλοι δουλεύουν όλους. Σε αυτό το contest πολλοί Ραδιοερασιτέχνες μετακινούνται και ενεργοποιούν νησιά, μικρά ή μεγάλα, κάνοντας ταυτόχρονα και τις διακοπές τους.
Η Ελλάδα μας, προσφέρεται και είναι ο ιδανικός τόπος για τέτοιου είδους αποστολών ή DxPedition. Αυτό όμως, δεν σημαίνει ότι δεν μπορούν να λάβουν μέρος και οι σταθεροί σταθμοί ασυρμάτου.
Ο διαγωνισμός αρχίζει το Σάββατο από 12:00 UTC έως την Κυριακή:12:00 UTC .
Τα mode λειτουργίας είναι CW - SSB και MIXED.
Οι μπάντες λειτουργίας είναι 10m έως 80m. Εξαιρούνται φυσικά οι μπάντες WARC, που δεν τις χρησιμοποιούμε σε κανέναν διαγωνισμό (12m-17m-30m)
Οι κατηγορίες χειριστών είναι οι κλασικές: Ένας χειριστής ένας Π/Δ, Πολλοί χειριστές ένας ή πολλοί Π/Δ.
Στην ανταλλαγή αναφοράς δίνουμε RS(T)+Serial Number ξεκινώντας από 001, και όσοι ευρίσκονται σε κάποιο νησί δίνουν και τον αριθμό ΙΟΤΑ του νησιού. ΠΧ Από την Ρόδο ο χαριστής θα δώσει 59(9)+001+EU001

Here to follow is a breakdown of thèse noteworthy items:
* The World Multi-Op category has been deleted.
* All the Island Stations taking part in the Multi-Op must follow the 6 changes rule”.
*Stations with more island operators should identify the stations Run and their multipliers in their logs.
* The Island-Low-Powe Stations can choose any of the antennas they want.

«Two of these changes have been made to restore the original intent of the contest, which was aimed at working island stations. To some extent this has been lost, with some operators on the islands who lost much of their time working other stations not on the islands.
The QSY rule for multi-operator stations on the islands is that kind of rule which was avoided for a long time. Unfortunately it is clear that some competitors have taken advantage of the absence of such a rule. We were forced to follow CQWW and others in applying that. We also wanted to have the two stations, Run and Mult, to be clearly distinguished in the log.
With regard to the last change, it has been included following the requests of many operators, although we understand that it may be a difficulty for those who use small planes or boats to head to the island».
Πάντως για να κλείσω μαθαίνω ότι και φέτος πολλοί, πάρα πολλοί Έλληνες ραδιοερασιτέχνες, μεμονωμένα ή κατά ομάδες, θα ενεργοποιήσουν τα Ελληνικά νησιά και θα προσπαθήσουν για το καλύτερο στον διαγωνισμό.
